Preparation Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats

  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

  • In a medium-sized saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  • Stir in 1 cup of steel-cut oats and a pinch of salt (if desired).
  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer the oats, uncovered, for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Continue cooking until the oats reach your desired consistency. If the porridge becomes too thick, you can add a little more water.
