GUINNESS GLAZED CHICKEN WINGS

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 cup Guinness stout
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Irish whiskey-infused barbecue sauce for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine Guinness stout, soy sauce, honey, and Chinese five-spice powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Add the chicken wings to the marinade, making sure they are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Remove the chicken wings from the marinade and place them on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, leaving space between each wing.
  5. Bake the chicken wings in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.
  6. While the wings are baking, heat the remaining marinade in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until it thickens into a glaze.
  7. Once the wings are cooked through, remove them from the oven and brush them with the Guinness glaze.
  8. Serve the Guinness glazed chicken wings hot, with a side of Irish whiskey-infused barbecue sauce for dipping.
