- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup Irish whiskey
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in three parts, alternating with the buttermilk, and mixing until just combined.
