Description: Irish Cream Brownies are a delightful treat that combines the rich flavors of chocolate with a hint of Irish cream liqueur. These brownies are indulgent, moist, and slightly boozy, making them a perfect dessert for special occasions or a sweet St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30-35 minutes
Serving size: Approximately 16 brownies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup Irish cream liqueur (e.g., Baileys)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for added texture)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) square baking pan. You can also line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and coarsely chopped semi-sweet chocolate. Microwave in 20-30 second intervals, stirring each time until the mixture is completely melted and smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
Pour in the Irish cream liqueur and vanilla extract, and stir until incorporated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. If desired, fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips for an extra layer of richness and texture.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake.
Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, cut the brownies into squares and serve. These Irish Cream Brownies are wonderful on their own or with a dollop of whipped cream, a dusting of cocoa powder, or a drizzle of extra Irish cream for an extra kick of flavor. Enjoy!
