GARLIC ROASTED CABBAGE

Description: Garlic Roasted Cabbage is a simple yet flavorful side dish that transforms humble cabbage into a delicious, crispy delight. The cabbage wedges are generously seasoned with garlic, olive oil, and spices, then roasted until tender on the inside and caramelized on the edges. Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head of green cabbage
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  2. Prepare the Cabbage:
    • Remove any loose or damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into thick wedges, about 1-inch thick, keeping the core intact to hold the wedges together.

  3. Season the Cabbage:
    • In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using).
    • Place the cabbage wedges on the prepared baking sheet and brush or drizzle the garlic oil mixture over both sides of each wedge, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  4. Roast the Cabbage:
    • Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping the wedges halfway through the cooking time. The cabbage should be tender and caramelized around the edges.

  5. Serve:
    • Remove the roasted cabbage from the oven and transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot as a side dish.
