Description: A traditional Irish dish made with mashed potatoes, cabbage or kale, and butter.

- 2 pounds of potatoes, peeled and chopped into small pieces
- 1/2 head of green cabbage, finely shredded
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of chopped scallions or onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Boil the chopped potatoes in a pot of salted water for 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the milk and butter to the pot, and mash the potatoes with a potato masher or fork until they are smooth and creamy.
- In a separate pot, cook the shredded cabbage in a small amount of boiling water for 5-7 minutes, or until it is tender.
- Drain the cabbage and add it to the pot with the mashed potatoes.
- Add the chopped scallions or onions to the pot and mix well.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot as a side dish with your favorite main course.
